What are the similarities in the stories Narrative of the Life of Federick Douglass and Thoreau's "Resistance to Civil Government".

These two stories are about getting rid of slavery. Thoreau refused to pay taxes and even spent a night in jail because he protested about slavery. Douglass on the other hand was a slave himself and he knew how hard it is be a slave that is why he is also campaigning about anti-slavery. Douglass was describing how unjust his masters are because they are taking so much advantage on them being slaves and they couldn't do anything about it because they will be punished if they do so. The same thing with Thoreau, he was describing how unjust the government is and just like a master on a slave, they impose rules and laws but sometimes they are already suppressing the freedom of the people and just like slaves, the people cannot complain openly about it because they will be punished. Finally, both authors are brave enough to voice out their concerns and they really wanted to be heard in order for a reform to happen and they are doing this despite all the risks.
