Instructions: Using internet search engines and other research tools available from the PMU library, find five articles that meet the criteria state in the “Assigned Topic” section below. Then, answer each of the eight questions (lettered a-h) for each article.

 

Due Date: This assignment will be due at the beginning of class on Tuesday, July 5 (Section 101) or Wednesday, July 6 (Section 102). On that day, be prepared to share at least one of your group’s completed worksheets with the entire class on that day, where you would be able to briefly summarize, assess and reflect on one of your five articles.

 

Required Sources:

1. At least one of your sources must come from a podcast episode. Look on any of the established platforms for Podcasts dedicated to your chosen industry or profession. Look on Apple Podcasts, Google Podcasts, Spotify, YouTube for starters. The Podcast may be in Arabic or English. (If you do not have a Podcast episode in your sources, you will lose 25%)

2. At least one of your sources must come from one of the three following English-language newspapers: The New York Times (https://www.nytimes.com), The Wall Street Journal (https://www.wsj.com),or the Financial Times, (https://www.ft.com). You can use the search engines for their websites. You can also use the search features in the catalog on the PMU Library Website. I would encourage you to seek out one of our excellent librarians for advice in finding these required sources. If you do not have an article from one of these three news platforms in your sources, you will lose 25%)

 

Submission: There are three ways you may submit this assignment. First, you may download the MS Word and type your answers and upload that document. Alternatively, you may print the document and fill it in by hand and then upload a scan of the assignment. Finally, you may type your assignment and then copy and paste directly onto Blackboard; however, please properly number the articles and questions.

 

Next Steps: Your group will use this information to write questions for the Podcast Assignment Part 1.
