(Theresa)Ansel Adams-Frozen Lake and Cliffs(1932)

When I initially looked at the picture, I was stuck with a sense of awe at the beauty that nature provides.

What is observed in the picture is smooth reflecting water with a craggy cliff; the white floating ice and the black lake form a calm horizontal against rising rocks.

Ansel's image is about seeing the beauty in the world around us. Angel is quoted as saying, "There were several good photographers nearby, and "the scene was before us all, but no one else responded with creative interest…With all art expression, when something is seen, it is a vivid experience, sudden, compelling and inevitable(Cubitt, 2014)."

The primary focal point of the picture is the dark cliffs against the white ice.

This type of art aims to Understand the photographer's emotions while also giving us other forms of feelings through the photos(Sporre, 2014).

Theresa Baldwin- Root Tree Maze 2022

The primary focal point of this picture is the tree roots

When I took this picture, I did not have a message in mind. However, the message I would portray today is that even when you feel like life is about to knock you down. Know that you are strong enough to survive.

I think these two photos are similar because we both took the scary aspect of nature and showed how it could be beautiful.
