What is observed in the picture is smooth reflecting water with a craggy cliff; the white floating ice and the black lake form a calm horizontal against rising rocks.
Ansel's image is about seeing the beauty in the world around us. When I took this picture, I did not have a message in mind. However, the message I would portray today is that even when you feel like life is about to knock you down. Know that you are strong enough to survive.
I think these two photos are similar because we both took the scary aspect of nature and showed how it could be beautiful.
