the Swatch Group. I selected this company because I currently work for them, and feel that gives me a deeper insight into what goes on within the company. I have attached a copy of the annual report for 2021 to this posting, as required. "The Swatch Group is the number one manufacturer of finished watches in the world" (Swatch, 2022). They own 17 different watch brands across all different price ranges, and are headquartered out of Switzerland.
The AICPA Code of Professional Conduct has six basic principles: responsibilities, public interest, integrity, objectivity and independence, due care, and scope and nature of services. The responsibilities principles means in carrying out their professional responsibilities, members are required to exercise sensitive and moral judgments in all activities (AICPA, 2021). The public interest principle means members are required to accept their obligation to act in a way that serves the public interest, and honors their trust while demonstrating a commitment to professionalism (AICPA, 2021). The integrity principle requires members to maintain and broaden public confidence. The objectivity and independence principle implies that members are required to be free from objectivity at all times when performing their duties, and be free from any conflicts of interest while performing their duties (AICPA, 2021). The due care principle implies that members are to observe the profession's technical and ethical standards while striving to continually improve competence and quality of services (AICPA, 2021). Finally, the scope and nature of services principle means that all members in public practice should observe the Principles of the Code of Professional Conduct in determining the scope and nature of services rendered (AICPA, 2021).
I have been employed by Swatch for almost five years, and can say that I have never been involved in an ethical conflict while working there. An ethical conflict arises when "an employee's personal beliefs collide with the organization's, negative consequences such as stress, lack of organizational commitment, absenteeism, and turnover can ensue" (Xing, 2022). I think that Swatch has evolved quite a bit throughout the time that I have been here, even as far as our audits are concerned. When I was first hired, a lot of the things that are working well now were not in the same shape. Getting through an audit with PwC was quite the task, and there were even times we could not find the appropriate back-up for their selections. Comparing the current environment with the AICPA Code of Professional Conduct, I would say the public interest principle is their strong suit. We are always having meetings and calls about what we can do for the community, which also serves as a marketing tool in the long-run. Financially, I have also known them to be very forthcoming and up front about information requested

Adidas is a multinational sportswear company that manufactures clothing, shoes, and accessories. The company operates in the textile industry and footwear. The company’s annual report for 2021 provides important ethical information regarding Adidas. The company’s vision or purpose is through sports. Adidas believes it has the power to change lives. Adidas will always strive to expand human possibilities and to unite and include people in sports creating a more sustainable world (Yukl et al., 2013). Adidas’ mission is to be the best sports brand in the world. The company’s attitude is to make a future possibility as a team of all stakeholders. Impossible is nothing is the tagline for the company’s attitude. The culture of Adidas is authentic, innovative, built on trust, inclusive, and optimistic.
My perception of Adidas’ ethical climate is that it upholds integrity and teamwork, creating a sustainable impact in the world as it expands for more profits. The interests of others and the public are put forward before everything. The company has a positive environmental, social, and economic atmosphere for prosperity.
Adidas' ethical standards are consistent with the AICPA code of ethics and professional conduct. For instance, the principle of integrity that states that professionals should uphold a high sense of integrity to maintain public confidence is upheld by Adidas in its culture of trust and authenticity (Mintz, 2014). Also, the public interest principle has been upheld by Adidas since it is striving to unite all people to a more sustainable world through efficient supply chains and environmental conservation. Finally, Adidas proves due care in dealing with its stakeholders by striving to change lives, beating all impossibilities with inclusivity and optimism
