Explain the use of observation and documentation to review, support, and promote children’s learning across the continuum of early childhood development. PURPOSE: 1. To observe, collect and organize creative play experiences. Complete lesson 9 and 10 titled Dramatic Play and Blocks, including readings and learning activities. 2. Draw a floorplan that shows the two curriculum areas, Dramatic Play and Blocks, clearly labeled and their location to each other. Include doors, windows, shelving, tables, washrooms, and any large furniture that is in these areas. 3. All information will be taken from the textbook and the lessons and NOT from the internet. The information must also include: the name of the curriculum area and a detailed list of materials in use. Only the textbook and lessons will be used and need to be in the reference list. 4. For each curriculum area; -reflect and complete the checklist “Principles of Best Practice” -reflect and describe the learning that has occurred for you as a result of this experience -reflect on how you can apply what you have learned and how you will change your practice with children. 5. Compile your portfolio assignment in a professional manner as one whole project. You may consider using Power Point, Prezi, Impress, Google, etc. It will need to be saved in a pdf format to upload to Canvas.
