Argumentative Thesis:			Social Media negatively affects youth because it can influence how they feel and think, serves as an interactive format that allows them to react or behave in a certain way and affect social skills.
Three Research Areas :1) Problematic internet use 2) Sexting, loss of privacy & predators 3) Delays in learning and Social Skills
Outline (5-7 bullet points)		The new generation is experiencing an age of social media overload which is resulting in delays in learning and developing social skills. Obesity is on the rise due to the lack of being physically active and reliance on entertainment from social media to keep busy. Negative effects on performance activities in school, work, driving etc. because to social media distractions. Problematic internet issues causing more time in front of a computer screen leading to eye issues and can led to additive behavior called problematic internet use. Cyberbullying on social media can affect the lives of anyone adults and children alike. This type of behavior can ruin a person’s reputation. Children can be exposed to risky behaviors such as sexual behaviors, drug use, tobacco which can encourage these types of behaviors sooner than the young brains are able to process the effects.

The audience for your paper must be specific.  If you are presenting a paper on treatment of autism, do not say broadly treatment professionals, but be specific – treatment professionals at Marcus Autism Center.

  • Reporting of statistical results and statistical significance

• The Argumentative Thesis statement (AT) in my senior paper will be the second to last sentence in my introduction section and the last sentence will note the three psychology areas I am drawing from and integrating into my senior paper.
• The paper will have the following structure (The body of the paper, intro through to conclusion is 10 pages minimum, 11 pages max.)
  • Title page
  • Abstract
  • Introduction (½ to ¾ of a page)
  • Research Claim 1 (3 quantitative studies) only quantitative studies can be reported in claims area, the research body of the paper.
  • Research Claim 2 (3 quantitative studies)
  • Research Claim 3 (3 quantitative studies)
  • Conclusion (½ to ¾ of a page)
  • References (minimum of 9 quantitative studies, 3 per claim area.)
  • Quotes can be used in intro and conclusion, but not in research body
