Mistakes can be crucial to make new discoveries."We learn wisdom from failure much more than from success."Although mistakes can contribute to discoveries, they also may cause damage.With being said, in my strong opinion,mistakes are a key part of discovery.

 

        To start off, Schliemann made careless mistakes. Schliemann started digging up Troy his way. He was persuaded that he knew precisely how far to dig down and how to get there but Schliemann was wrong.He had other workers open up a few trenches in the earth shoveling out layers and layers of debris and artifacts that lay undisturbed for centuries.Although Schliemann and Calverts both discovered the ancient treasure the damage was done to the site was profound.Today archaeologists believe that they were suppose to dig up higher but they won't know for sure. 

 

    Furthermore,Percy Spencer created a life changing invention for all Americans by a simple mistake. Spencer was born in Howland,Maine, in 1894, and started helping his uncle fix things. Soon when he was 16 helping his family by working in a shop.
