I need help creating some introductory paragraphs for an essay.

This is the Thesis: Morales' macro economic and social policies have contributed to a significant increase in average personal income and have helped to reduce poverty and inequality.

Some key points to consider and include are:

Key Point:

1. implementation of complex economic policies; such as capital controls, industry-specific investment, the extension of micro credits to small and medium-size businesses with preferential credit conditions, and issuance of public debt with restrictions from the HIPC

2. The economic strategy of Morales aspired and succeeded in expanding economic activity among a larger sector of the population, primarily the disenfranchised indigenous population, which accounts for a majority of the Bolivian population.

3. The minister of Finance, Luis Alberto Arce, under Evo Morales, notes some of the most essential policies by the Morales government related to the prioritization of five industries: Food, leather, timber, textiles, and tourism. The minister notes the success of the BDP, a second-tier bank created to provide lower-interest-rate loans to targeted industries. The BDP had a modest budget of 50 million dollars, which provided loans and grants at 6% interest compared with 12% average by the other banks, and the BDP also offered a unique two-year grace period to its clients (The banker). The minister of finance also implemented capital control flows "The central bank brought out a 1% charge on foreign remittances to try to limit the flow of speculative capital into the country".

4. Morales presented the indigenous poor with the idea of dignified living "dignity requires the eradication of poverty and the formulation of wide networks of social welfare and essential public services such as health care, education, [Drinking water],and public security" (Mendonca, p.7).

5. The Obama administration did not embrace the economic growth of Bolivia. The Obama administration complained that Bolivia was not doing enough to fight drug trafficking, claiming that 9% of drug production arriving in the U.S came from Bolivia, despite contradicting arguments by the U.N claiming only 1% of the drugs came from Bolivia. The Obama administration used this as a pretext to eliminate preferential tariffs for Bolivian products in the U.S Market. (Big Think, 1). Morales claims that the actions by the Obama administration and pressure from the IMF against Bolivia were to manipulate credit availability based on policies counterproductive to the Bolivian economy. Morales countered these pressures by reaching out to Latin American markets for Bolivian products in a move that improved the overall revenue from textiles exports.

6. Since the Morales government took power, the economy went from one of the weakest in the world, with per capita income of $1219 in 2006, to $3552 by his ousting in 2019. During his government, the GDP grew from $11.45B in 2016 to $40.90B in 2019. (Big Think, p.2)

7. Morales' willingness to use controversial policies that benefited the indigenous population greatly contributed to his success. According to Albro (2015), in 2006, Morales passed a new constitution that recognized the rights of the indigenous population and gave them independence over their ancestral lands. The towns like El Alto, which are predominantly indigenous, were given a large degree of control over their affairs. Campbell (2018) holds the same views, saying that Morales' policies empowered the indigenous population. Campbell explores the constitutional reforms that Morales enacted and explains that they were important in ensuring the success of his administration. One of them was the 2006 referendum, in which Morales proposed a new constitution recognizing the rights of the indigenous population. The referendum was passed by a large amount, and it resulted in significant changes to the way Bolivia was governed.

8. Morales administration used  money from nationalized industries to fund social programs. These programs have helped to reduce poverty and improve living standards for the indigenous population. One example is the Juancito Pinto program, which provides cash transfers to families that keep their children in school. This program has helped to increase school enrollment rates and improve educational outcomes.
