Super hero project: This project will provide students with an opportunity to learn more about individual differences as they relate to the human experience. Your assignment will be focused on a super hero of your choice. You will choose a character from a movie or comic book and identify the character's abnormal behavior. You will attempt to describe the presenting abnormal behavior, whether it has a diagnosis in the DSM-V and the root cause of the behavior. You will also need to discuss treatment options listed in the DSM-V. You will refer to each of the following areas that we have studied and how it has or has not had an overall effect on the character: sex, gender, and sexuality; sensation and perception; learning; memory; thinking, language, and intelligence; motivation and emotion; stress, health, and human flourishing; social psychology; and personality (including what you think their personality type is).
