1. Volkswagen Group is an auto manufacturer that produces 11 million vehicles per year, across 10 automotive brands in 124 factories around the world. As reported by Dr. Martin Hoffman (2019) the groups automotive plants have differing levels of production, experience, and equipment (2019). To reduce production time and overall cost Volkswagen Group has partnered with Amazon Web Services (AWS) to bring all 124 automotive factories under one supply chain using AWS IoT (Internet of Things) services.

Volkswagen is using Platform as a Service (PaaS) to build out its IoT services that will connect the factory floors of all 124 factories to one cloud. By bringing the factories together into one cloud Volkswagen is predicting that they will reduce costs and production time by 30 percent and result in 1 billion dollars in savings by having a single supply chain. As stated in Management Services (2021) Volkswagen group will publish its own apps that will streamline best practices across the industry. As of the report VW Group has connected 18 plants in Europe and is moving to bring in three plants in North America by the end of 2021 (2021).

2. General Electric uses AWS as their cloud service, in which they have found a lot of success. GE specifically sees a lot of benefits in AWS in its healthcare sector. Cloud services give them faster access to healthcare data and help them in improving their diagnoses and treatment (GE Healthcare Case Study - Amazon Web Services (AWS), n.d.) Some of the specific healthcare benefits that GE gets with using AWS are that it provides access and advanced visualization of imaging data, it establishes an ecosystem for innovation and helps to deliver higher value to connected devices and specialty applications, and it enables image data collaboration across primary care, specialists, and care settings (GE Healthcare Case Study - Amazon Web Services (AWS), n.d.). With GE using cloud services in the healthcare field, there are various risks that could potentially unfold. Security is definitely an issue with any cloud service. GE holds loads of healthcare data that is used to improve diagnoses and treatment so weak security can potentially end in a breach and a loss of data which is extremely detrimental and could hurt a lot of people in doing so.

3. Netflix is a major company that utilizes cloud computing. Ironically, they are Amazon's biggest cloud computing client as Netflix is expected to spend over one-billion dollars on streaming services and cloud computing up to the year 2023 (CloudZero, 2021)..

In 2008 Netflix still used the typical privately owned and managed data centers. However, they experienced a major outage and database corruption and couldn't complete sales for three days in a row. This led to Netflix migrating to the cloud for just about everything and running a bunch of smaller services globally, rather than in massive private data centers (CloudZero, 2021).

Netflix benefits from business continuity from using cloud computing, as well as being easily scalable. They also benefit from using what is called microservices, which is basically specific applications for specific processes or operations without disrupting services across the board (CloudZero, 2021).
