The solutions to the problem are as follows:

 -There needs to be more training for police officers on how to deal with suspects without using excessive force.

 -There also needs to be more accountability for police officers who do use excessive force, and they should be punished accordingly.

 -There needs to be more diversity in the police force so that it is more representative of the population as a whole.

 

A counterargument to this position is that police officers have a very difficult job and are often put in situations where they have to make split-second decisions. They should not be punished if they make a mistake.

 

However, I believe that this counterargument is wrong for the following reasons:

 -Police officers are trained to deal with difficult situations, and they should be held accountable for their actions.

 -Punishing police officers who use excessive force will deter other officers from using excessive force.

 -Diversity in the police force is important because it will help to build trust between the police and the community.
