1-Describe key components of a business continuity plan and (a) how they might differ for different types of organizations and (b) how they might differ depending on EHR maturity level. A business continuity management system is a complimentary process to disaster recovery for business. A business continuity has a larger scope other than recovery for IT systems. This would take place if there was anything that causes the system to fail or go down for a period of time. However, once the risks have been identified, organizations must then determine the potential impact of each one of the sytems that is being used as well as the proper resources and steps necessary to resume its operational process without interuptions in the future.

The EHR maturity level of a program can assist organizations in time management, coordination of systems, security and overall patient care. This is a system that can run longer,  access more information as needed without any disruptions.

2-Business continuity is a formal process that includes an impact analysis that takes into consideration the institute's business needs, the development of a formal plan, recovery strategies, and exercises to test the plan. Some key components of a business continuity plan include the risks and potential business impact, roles and responsibilities, communication, testing and training, and planning an effective response.  The main goals of a business continuity plan are to protect the people, their property, and their assets. This establishes risk management procedures to prevent interruptions to the organization. Each organization might differ by size, dynamic, environment, and operational levels. These all play a role in each BCP in every company and might not all be the same. For each company to conclude each organization should require a downtime box that includes "registration forms, charge sheets, fax forms, and other commonly used forms for that business area" (349). Depending on the maturity level of EHR, they might differ for a more mature EHR system business continuity plan won't be as difficult to develop and less time will be spent on it. As for a less mature EHR system, there will be more effort in creating a good business plan that uses more time to create.
