Planning is a strategic function of every organization. Healthcare, as we know, is particularly challenging. This assignment looks a few years ahead into the future and gives some substantial considerations for administrators and managers. The assignment also creates a dependency on collaborative practice. As an MBA or Clinical Manager, you will not wrk alone.
The objective of this assignment:
- Students will utilize the Future Scan 2021-2026 document as a basis for researching and developing a report on strategies related to an identified trend. The students will choose one of the concepts listed and provide future improvements/challenges related to implementing the factor in the future. Reports will be 2-3 pages or presentations 5-7 minutes narrative that will be required to follow APA 7th Edition formatting.
The Final:
- The paper/presentation will:
- Draw from scholarly sources (at least 4) to support the importance of future concept chosen from the "Focuses" section. Scholarly sources must be five (5) years or less.
- The paper/presentation will NOT:
- Prescribe solutions - we are looking at implications, possibilities and responses here, not what "should be done" or what "needs to be done" leave that for later.

Introduction / Futurist Concept Identification
- An overview of the futurist concept will be presented along with the organization of your paper/presentation.
- The rationale for the futurist concept selection is articulated clearly and the importance in health care is established.
- The significance of why the concept was chosen should be explained.
Body / Concept Analysis
- Select one future concept from the list below.
- The possible impact of the concept is identified and attributed to the organizational units/structure.
- The impacts identified are supported through scholarly research and sources.
- The potential responses of health care organizations are identified (not prescribed). Essentially explaining why the concept is very important to consider.
- The evaluation of the future concept (reality, or not reality) is explained and supported.
- If reality - answer how can be handled?
- If not reality - support your argument for why it is not reality
Paper Organization / Content
The paper is:
- Presented with a consistent language
- Appropriate grammar is used
- APaA citations and style are consistent throughout the document
- Develops specific linkages or transitions between paragraphs and the ideas presented throughout.
- HEADINGS ARE USED THROUGHOUT
- The importance of the futurist concept selected is clearly articulated
- Thoughtful analysis of the important aspects is presented.
- The analysis of the reveals the importance of the issue to health care administrators and managers.
- Support is drawn from the literature
Conclusion / Further research
The conclusion is reflective of the entire paper and synthesizes the key concepts and thoughts of the student. It summarizes the important idea presented in the body of the paper.
