Remember the event that you proposed in the previous assignment 'persuading others—proposing and event'? in the previous assignment you wrote a letter to  Cindy Gouveia who is the head of the event planning committee for the George Brown College Foundation. Now, Cindy has approved your proposal, and the committee has decided to go ahead with your plan to host a student and industry networking event in December. At this stage, as part of the planning process, you are asked to write and design a blog post on CADIT's (The Centre for Arts, Design and Information Technology) website to promote the event. Here are the requirements for this blog post:

 

1. Your blog post can include 1 long paragraph of about 350-450 words or be a in a standard 4 paragraph essay format (350-500).
2. Your goal in this blog post is to promote the event and convince and persuade your audience i.e., students studying in the Centre for Arts, Design and information Technology to attend the event.
3. Think about how you can grab students' attention to read the blog post and attend the event.
4. Thesis: You need to write with a purpose and think of your main point in this blog post. Make sure your blog post has a thesis statement.
5. Include the topics and themes you are going to present at the event. Make sure you include the names of the keynote speaker or the members you suggested for the panel discussion. If you are including a workshop, games, quizzes, etc. include each of these in your blog post.
6. Use persuasive techniques to persuade your audience to attend the event. Be sure to use rhetorical devices (i.e. Ethos, Logos, and Pathos).
7. Your blog post must present an element of research. This will help you to establish your credibility as a writer, and also puts your post into a larger context. Make sure you include at least 1 in-text citation in the body of the blog post.
8. Apply critical thinking skills to engage with the topic and get your audience onboard!
9. Be sure to include a reference list of all the references you have used in the body of your blog post.
10. Design your blog post effectively! Consider how you will make your blog interactive and easy to navigate. Regardless of how you put the blog together, consider how you will create balance between WORDS and IMAGE. Use titles and headings to separate content. Include links and/or videos for your reader to click on and explore the event further.
11. Include relevant hashtags to help this blog post reach the right audience.
