Step-by-step explanation
Watching movies and reading books are two different things, although they both serve as entertainment or leisure, their intended effects to the viewers, or readers could be quite different. And no one for sure could speak for everyone and tell which may be better than the other, because it is subjective. It depends on one person's preference, and as for me, watching movies is way better than reading books. It appeals to me and it attends to my needs - I love how I save time watching movies, and most importantly, how I get to share the screen and have complete fun watching with my family.
Finishing a single book takes so much time from me, I easily get tired reading and I just find it hard finding a peaceful place where I could read. Unlike watching movies, it's only gonna take 1 and half hour for me or sometimes shorter to actually give me the whole plot of a certain story, especially when it comes to classic stories in which the plot is as is. Personally, watching different movie versions of classic stories is fascinating, you get to actually see the people talking, to finally see the perfect picture of the iconic scenarios. But more than the convenience and its entertainment value, watching movies is one thing that binds my family, one things that makes us sit together and laugh together - and that, my friend, is priceless.
At the end of the day, whether we prefer watching movies over reading books or the other way around - it won't really matter, as long as you get to do what you think makes you happy and what attends to your needs. Stop with the mentality that associates watching to being lazy or reading books to being genius. Well it turns out for me that watching movies isn't bad at all and is actually one of the best things in life!
