The mixture will melt. Avoiding mixing of water into your reaction mixture. Remove the water bath. The material inside the test tube will solidify. Once the test tube cools down, add 5 mL methanol in the test tube. Try to dissolve all the product and cool test tube to room temperature. Crystal should Grow. If no crystals come out of the solution boil the solution and add few drops of water into the test tube until the solution becomes cloudy and then bring the Test tube back to room temperature. Step C Collect the crystals by filtration. Do not use vacuum filtration. Wash the crystals with 10 mL 1:1 methanol water mixture (means 5 mL water and 5 mL methanol and cool it in ice).
