The last 30 or so years of history, the recent past, is hard for historians today to really put into context well. We just do not have the historical distance or perspective to evaluate what happened in its entirety, especially if we lived through it! But that does not mean we should not study it.
After finishing reading the lecture notes and the textbook, I want you to create a PowerPoint that traces the path of recent American history, from the presidency of Bill Clinton through today. There are a variety of subjects that you can cover, including domestic and international policies, the New Right, economic strength in the 1990s and the Silicon Revolution, America's involvement in the Middle East through those decades, 9-11 and its impact, the War on Terror, the rise of social media, globalization, modern Progressivism, presidential controversies, Covid-19 and its consequences, and many more. You can discuss some or all of these, or choose others, if you find other topics you feel are more important.
Please keep this PowerPoint on the topic of America between Clinton's presidency and the present under 15 slides, focusing on what you feel the most important things to understand are.
Be sure to follow the PowerPoint template, and don't forget to cite your sources!
