Environmental governance, which is the input for the sustainable development
is operating at different levels of performance and constraints in the developing countries in general and Ethiopia in particular. It is also well established facts that, the institutions and policies are the key for the good environmental governance and the success of it, highly depend on the capacity and commitment of the responsible institutions which operated under the policy and regulatory framework. Further, human perceptions and attitude play significant role in the successful execution of the environmental governance programs and strategies, particularly at the lower level of order.
Concerning the above statement participants have to conduct a mini project on the guided question below. The mini-project is divided into two parts, the first part is the desk base study and the second part is the field base, which are as follows:
1. Critically review the Ethiopian environmental policy and its operational framework at the urban centers level. Desk review.
Note: participants have to review the policy with reference to any city or town of your choice
2. Assess the community perceptions and attitude towards the environmental governance in any sub-city of Addis Ababa city.
Note: participants should develop the appropriate questionnaire and collection method (remote method) which should at least capture the core issues like; their understanding, preferences, satisfaction level, expectations and willingness for participation and
