Mental shortcuts are the shortcuts or the criteria we apply using the logics and calculated information to take any decision. While it has many benefits as it leads to better decision makings or better solutions for a problem but sometimes it leads to wrong decisions as they logic or common sense that we applied to the objects or problems that looks similar are totally different(representative heuristic).
For examples many times in our exams we used to put or add some logics in questions and try to get the answers but it is not necessarily true that we get right answers always as we can’t apply same logic to each problem as if they look similar but can be different.
