A student is in Academic Good Standing if enrolled in an associate or baccalaureate degree-seeking program and not in the first term of Academic Recovery.

Probation rules - A student is on Academic Probation when the student's cumulative grade point average is below 2.0 after having accumulated 30 or more credit hours (or 20 or more credit hours for an associate degree program). However, transfer students in the first matriculated semester are subject to Academic Warning as specified in 2.c.

Class standing (sometimes referred to as "class level" or "classification") is a traditional designation used to define a student's progress toward their graduation goal.

Ineligibly scenarios - not suitable or undesirable scenarios.

Academic disqualification occurs when the Humboldt GPA or Cumulative GPA of a student who is already on academic probation falls below the minimum level allowed. When disqualified, a student is no longer enrolled at the university and he/she is placed on suspension for at least one year. A disqualified student needs to be officially "reinstated" in order to return to the university and should meet with an advisor to discuss future academic plans.
