are uniforms an appropriate tools for improving discipline and motivation?

Yes, this is because by wearing uniforms students gain skills in presentation which in the end leads to an improved discipline in the classroom. Also when students wear uniforms it reduces the risks of violence and theft therefore helping the young students not get exposed to such kind of behaviors hence improving their self discipline.

Children have an inherent need to feel part of a group and to feel accepted and have some admiration and respect, and a well designed school uniform gives them that kind of a feeling therefore therefore their motivation is skyrocketed.

Pros of School uniforms

1. It minimizes destruction that is students wont be competing to see who is wearing the latest brands and styles.
2. Promotes safety in schools -This is because teachers can easily identify when intruders are in the building.
3. Motivation- Students who feel safe have more energy to expend on their studies.

Cons of school uniforms

• Cost of school uniforms can take up scarce resources of time and money.

Suggestion

Adopting the policy of having a mandatory school uniforms can be beneficial in the long run in the development of children.
