Your boss at the CSU Widget Factory is pleased with how you handled his previous hazard analysis requests. He is now turning his attention to health hazards and has asked you to develop plans to address these two areas of concern:

• confined space entry and
• noise.

For each area of concern, discuss the following as it applies to the methodologies of health hazards:

1. how you would identify the presence of specific health hazards,
2. how you would evaluate the level of risk for each hazard identified, and
3. the control measures you would recommend to eliminate identified hazards or reduce the risk of exposure to the hazards.

There are various kinds of hazards in every workplace. An employer is responsible for safeguarding the safety and health risks at work. Physical threats, ergonomic hazards, environmental hazards and biological hazards are the most common health risks. Here the employer faces physical risks. Physical hazards indicate that they are normal hazards in the workplace, such as vibration, noise, etc.

Via risk management, which helps to recognize occupational health risks and protect employees as well. After recognizing the threats, we should take the appropriate measures to mitigate the hazards, then determine whether or not the danger has been assessed.

Using certain hazard management strategies, we can remove occupational risks, such as ;

• Elimination
• Substituting
• Engineering controls

Protective personal appliances such as elimination, substitution and engineering controls are the most effective hazard control. In this case, monitoring strategies such as work practice or personal protective equipment are necessary. This helps to provide protection and decrease visibility.
