According to "The Management Century" written by Walter Kiechel.It shows how the businesses were managed in the early days. It also highlights three things that should be done in order to make management better than what it has been in the past. They are;

The application of humanistic psychology to social institutions entails improving the way people interact with each other in the workplace.The overall thrust of the postwar managerial thinkers was to enhance the "humanity of production." Workers have proven that they will be most productive, only if they're respected and if managers could rely on them to motivate themselves and solve problems on their own" (Kiechel, 2012). The nature in which people treat each other in the workplace plays a critical role in determining the employees performance. Upholding high ethical values such as respect is one way of gaining recognition by your employer.

The surge in strategic thinking will motivate the management of businesses to improve.

The article stated, "success in business meant rapid and intelligent adaptation to events occurring outside, in an economy shaped by impersonal, objective forces that were neither controlled by the businessman nor influenced by his reaction to them" (Kiechel, 2012).

Strategic thinking entails coming up with innovative ideas,through brainstorming or through the trends in the market.It plays a key role in ensuring that the role of management continues to exist to the future.

Leadership styles and innovation determine the going concern of the management.Some leadership styles tend to be retrogressive and no longer exist.Such include the dictatorial leadership where the overall decision making depends on one person.Current trends in leadership ensures that the management will continue due to adoption of such styles as democratic.Also on the part of innovation,with the current technology,a lot of improvements need to be made through innovation.This ensures that the management function will continue to exist.
