You will keep an academic journal throughout the semester. Each entry should be a minimum of (two and a half to three pages). The journals will be reviewed primarily (but not exclusively) for content. The journal is where you have the space to analyze the class activities and comment on them. Relatedly, you are expected to analyze your progress throughout the semester and present your strategies to improve your performance if necessary. Remember that the journal is an analysis of the work - your work - done in class for the course. It is not a personal (private) journal.
Additionally, for this journal, you must provide a list of three books that you think must be added to the Alexandria Library collection: one book related to English 111, one book related to your major and one book of fiction. You must provide an argument as to why each of those books should be acquired by the library and, needless to say, those books should not be already part of the library collection and should have been published on the last five years.
