You have now had a good amount of time to get used to legal citation style. I assume that you have developed an opinion of it. (Personally, my opinion of it is similar to Winston Churchill’s opinion of democracy—it is the worst citation style, except for all of the other citation styles). It is probably true that it is difficult for most of us to really like citation work. Even if you do like citation work, it is possible, I guess, that you might still not like The Bluebook. Judge Richard A. Posner, the Chief Judge of the United States Court of Appeals for the Seventh Circuit, might be such a person. He has been a vocal critic of The Bluebook.

Please read Judge Posner's articles on The Bluebook, found in the Reading & Study folder for this module/week, and respond to the following questions:

• What do you think of Judge Posner’s arguments? Are you convinced?

• Would you prefer to use one of Judge Posner’s suggested alternatives as opposed to The Bluebook? Why or why not?

Lastly, can you think of any Christian worldview issues with regard to citation style? If so, what?
