3. After listening to Matt Shipman's interview, what are three takeaways you think are most valuable for future science PR practitioners?
The three most important conclusions reached in the interview are:
1- Be willing to accept that you will not always know the topic that is being discussed, therefore, it is necessary to ask for an explanation in order to understand it. Smiling and nodding to continue is not an option because it can create discomfort between you and the viewer.
2- Regardless of your line of work, look for opportunities to practice what you really want to do well. Learn to communicate effectively, whether it's through public relations in the places you frequent or writing for the school newspaper. Get your ideas down on paper, edit videos, practice to get your ideas across effectively.
3- Always be honest with everyone you deal with, your honesty is what will forge a reputation that other professionals can trust, especially if they are reporters. Know who you are dealing with, offer additional sources of information should they request it because it can make a big difference when the reporter pursues the story.

7. Why is it a bad idea to solely rely on counting or analyzing media coverage for your evaluation?
I don't understand this question very well. But I think that the correct answer should be that there would not be a complete evaluation if only these two indicators were taken.
The process of analyzing or evaluating media coverage should answer the following questions: who says which, where, when and how were the organization, themes and partners represented? From there, a three-stage process is carried out:
1.Set goals
2. Periodically collect articles presented in the written press, TV and radio and create a press dossier
3. Analyze this material based on the visibility, image, current trends and links of the communication activity initiated.
All of this brings the advantages of determining the degree to which the objectives set in the communication plan and communication activities have been met, giving an overview of the trends related to media coverage, in terms of quantity (presence) and quality (image) and finally evaluate the impact of the press releases or communication activities of your organization or local partners.
