Architectural style:

Greek Renaissance.

Borough Hall´s imposing greek-renaissance facade is clad in Tuckahoe marble, the building contains a monumental staircase leading to an entrance with six fluted Ionic columns supporting a triangular pediment, and its cast iron dome crowned by a statue of Justice. The cast iron dome, designed by Vincent Griffith and Stoughton & Stoughton, is an 1898 replacement for the original, which was burned in an 1895 fire that also destroyed part of the interior. The statue of justice, part of the original plan, was finally installed on top of the dome in 1988.
