Amazon is continuously looking for new markets to exploit. As Bezos addresses the strategic opportunity of streaming video, he calls on you for advice on gaining more customers from the younger generations. Amazon's presence and technology are well established, but Bezos sees a lot of untapped potential in this market. But what decision error and traps might cause him to make the wrong decisions regarding Amazon's future moves in this regard, and why? What can he do to best avoid these mistakes?
Skipping planning and failing to set short, middle and long term goals are the major mistakes that business people make while planning to venture into a new market. However, if they avoid using new technology early, avoid buying in from anybody and learning how to develop a key performance index, entrepreneurs like Bezos can avoid making mistakes(Mullins, 2016).
Having seen a new market to exploit, Bezos requires a very tactical approach of winning young generations and making them potential customers in the giant ecommerce company Amazon. In the process of making market ventures and exploitations plans and decisions, the following are reasons that can make him make mistakes(Mullins, 2016). The first one is skipping the planning phase. planning is a vittal stage because it gives an entrepreneur a clear projection of his work. Secondly if Bezos fails to set smart goals, he will not manage to tap the unexploited youth market via video streaming.
On the other hand, he should avoid incorporating new technology at first in the initial stages of market venturing. In order to avoid more mistake making, Bezos plus the companies strategic managers should not buy in from others, not fail to determine the key performance index nor lack of development of key performance indexes (Mullins, 2016).
