Question 1.

According to the Indian culture, hidden curriculum refers to the unwritten, unofficial and often unintended lessons as well as perspectives that students learn in school that is is based on the recognition that students when they are in school absorb lessons that may be or may not be part of the formal course of study such as punctuality and respecting authority. It is considered hidden because it is usually not acknowledged or examined by either students or teachers

Question 2.

Religion refers to a social-cultural system that has designated behaviors and practices, worldviews etc. that related human beings with supernatural nd spiritual elements. In India over many years there have been a significant blending of cultures between Buddhism, Hinduism, Muslims etc. and other tribal populations. India is where Hinduism, Budhdism, Jainism among other examples of religions were born and they are collectively known as Indian religions.

Question 3.

Toternism refers to the believe in animistic religions. For example in Indian culture, they believe in a holy cow, however, they do not consider it t be God. In Hindu, the cow is related to several deities such as Krishna, Shiva who is the cowherd go who rides his bull, Nandi. Also, it makes an economic sense in that the poor use the various products from a cow such as milk, butter rather than just meat, however, Hindus are vegetarians and therefore consider a cow to be sacred and should be protected and revered.

Question 4.

Cult refers to the formal religious veneration of religious beliefs and its body of adherents and it is regarded as unorthodox. An example of cult in Indian culture is the Rajneesh movement that was founded by Osho who was viewed as a controversial new religious movement leader and a mystic.

Question 5.

A sect refers to a subgroup of religious, political or philosophical belief system which is usually a group of a larger group. Examples of sects in the Indian culture are Shaiva, Vaishnava, Smarta etc. which are the variants of Hinduism

Question 6.

Rituals refers to activities that are done in a sequence and they involve use of gestures, words or objects that are performed in a place that is sequestered place and in a particular set of sequences. For example in the Indian Hindu, there are some type of rituals which include life-cycle rituals particularly initiation, ,marriage, ancestral rituals etc.
