Qualitive design;

It is concerned with establishing the answers to the whys and how's of the phenomenon in question. It varies depending upon the method used; participant observations, in-depth interviews and focus groups are all examples of methodologies which may be considered during qualitative research design. It is also focuses on obtaining data through open-ended an conversational communication.

Example of qualitative research design;

For example, on successfully interviewing female customer, visiting the nearby stores and malls, and selecting them through random sampling, it was known that the store doesn't have enough items for women and so there were fewer women visiting the store, which was understood only by personally interacting with them and understanding why they didn't visit the store, because there are more male products than female ones.

How qualitative research improves patient care and health.

Patients engagement in health research is becoming a requirement for many health research funders, yet many researchers have little or no experience in engaging patients as partners as opposed to research subjects. Several qualitative research methods when done well can help research team to improve patients care and health through;

• Accurately incorporating patients perspectives and experiences into the design and conduct of research, in which it approaches to engage more diverse patient perspectives which are presented to improve representation beyond the common practice of engaging more patients.
• Engage diverse patient perspectives, it is mandated by most healthcare planners and organizations to engage patients in healthcare improvement initiatives, which is prudent for integrated knowledge translation in a meaningful way.
• Treat patients as equal and ongoing partners on the research team, by ensuring that their experiences, values and advice are appropriately incorporated into the research process.
