I have provided personal questions. Please answer it with clarity and specificity.
Use the questions as a guide for your writing. Write in a paragraph and full sentence form.
Guiding Questions:
1)What is your vision for the kind of world in which you would like to live?
2)What responsibility do you have for bringing about that kind of world?
3)Respond to George Lipsitz's final question: "How are you going to write the new chapter, not in your notebooks, but in society as men and women with responsibility and opportunity?"
What is your vision for the kind of world in which you would like to live?
The world where the parents are excited and not afraid for their children's future. This is my vision for the kind of world I would like to live. A safe environment for everyone especially to children. I would like to live in a world where most people are trustworthy. I am being practical and I know that evil things are still needed to balance the world. However, it would be amazing to have good policemen and lawyers with integrity. When a crime was done, the criminal should be punished. When a politician committed corruption, he/she should be removed from his position and put to jail. When someone stole money, he/she should be punished but also questioned why he did such thing because poverty may be the cause of his actions. It would be nice to live in a world where people are more empath and try to understand each other's situation and challenges in life.
What responsibility do you have for bringing about that kind of world?
To be able to achieve that kind of world, I need to be more understanding to other people. I need to put my shoes in their situation. I will also give time in educating other people not to tolerate evil actions. It is also my responsibility as a citizen to call out people especially those in the government if they are doing something wrong or give them criticisms that will help them improve their governance. I should speak when an oppression is happening and not just turn my eyes away. In order to build a future world where we can let our children do what they want, pursue their dreams or just be a good person, we should not tolerate evil actions and call out people for doing it.
Respond to George Lipsitz's final question: "How are you going to write the new chapter, not in your notebooks, but in society as men and women with responsibility and opportunity?"
I will write about how men and women with responsibilities and opportunities will be able to stop the mass incarceration. We have to stop the crimes by educating people what they should or should not do. Like Bryan Stevenson, a lawyer who founded the Equal Justice Initiative, who was told not to drink alcohol when he was 9 years old and actually did not drink any alcohol because he knows the effects like having diseases or being sent to prison for prohibition (just like what happened to his grandfather and uncle). When these men and women have the opportunity to educate people especially the younger ones, they should do it as their responsibility to the world. People need to be educated to know the possible consequences of their actions.
