Discuss why sampling is used in statistics.

Statistics just like Math, is a discipline that focuses on quantitative analysis of data by organizing, test, interpreting, etc.

Sampling is defined as a method of choosing a small group from a large group in which the small group describes the behavior of the large group where it came from.

Sampling is used in statistics due to its efficiency in describing a large population by just taking a small portion and analysing it.

Researchers or scientist don't have that much time to study the entire population that's why sampling is used.

In the process of choosing the sample, it is very important that the sample should represent the entire population in a way that the result after analysing it will be accurate enough to describe the entire population.

Example for this is the blood test, a small amount of blood is taken from a patient and that small amount of blood will represent the entire amount of blood in the body of the patient.

The properties of that small amount of blood like platelets, wbc, rbc, and other are most likely represents the entire property of the blood in the body of the patient.
