??Stereotypes and the impact it can have on our lives both at work and personally is heartfelt. When I lived up in the country, there were a great many stereotypes about country people. When I first was in the navy, I had a broad southern accent, and some mistook our accents to mean that we were backward, and some said we were dumb. You and I all know that this is so far from the truth. I am glad for some maturity and education that we all have been afforded to see the difference and have the wisdom we are professionals. Do you agree?
Yes I agree with what you said that it is far from the truth. Stereotyping is about the pre-judgment of a person even though he does not know the background of that person, but considering about his looks and the way he speaks like his accent you already have an idea of what person he is. But I think I agree with what you said that we have the wisdom that we see it differently because we are professionals. We learned that it is not right to stereotype. We learned that some people that we think are dumb, are not actually dumb. Being an educated person, we tend to see things differently and we changed our perspectives when it comes to stereotyping. We encounter a lot of people in the workplace that we don't actually liked in the first place, but in the end we proved to ourselves that we are wrong about them. This is just an example that I agree with what you said that wisdom and knowledge will change everything.
With great knowledge and being a professional, you will realize that you can't judge a person by his looks and the way he talks. If you experienced a lot of stereotyping, you will learn that it is just an impression that do not last longer if you will deal with that certain people along the way. I also agree with you that maturity and education is what we needed. A person's outside look is just a small part of what he really is as a person. We should not judge a person based on his looks because we don't really know what he's capable of doing.
Step-by-step explanation
Stereotype - refers to a mistaken idea about a certain group of people or a thing that is just based upon on their outside look.
