Explain the difference between exocrine glands and endocrine glands in relation to body tissues and membranes. Give an example for each.

 

Glands are composition of the cells of the body of animals that are responsible for the manufacturing and synthesizing of substances like hormones into the bloodstream of the person. 

Step-by-step explanation

There two types of glands that manufacture substances into the bloodstream of animals; exocrine glands and endocrine glands. These two glands perform different functions hence possess differences between them.

1. Exocrine glands

These are glands that are used to produce and secrete bodily materials into the epithelial surface of an animal by the way of a duct of the animal. They comprise of the following glands; the mammary glands to produce milk, sweat gland, salivary glands to produce saliva, prostate gland, lacrimal gland, ceruminous gland and mucous gland.

2. Endocrine glands

These are glands found in the endocrine system without a duct that secrete and produce substances like hormones directly into blood of the animal. The examples of endocrine glands are; pancreas, pineal gland, testes, pituitary gland, thyroid gland, adrenal glands, parathyroid gland, ovaries and the  hypothalamus.
