Family Sponsorship Assignment - Sponsoring Lana Lancelle You were successful in helping a client, Jose Argentia, immigrate to Canada in the Business Class category. Jose started up a successful ranch in Alberta. It is a 500-acre ranch in the foothills of Alberta between Canmore and Calgary. His address is RR#3, Kananiskis, Alberta. His phone number is (780) 881-9080. Lana came over to Canada with Jose on a visitor's visa. They arrived together July 14, 2016. They have traveled around the country visiting Niagara Falls, the Okanogan Valley, Whistler and the West Edmonton Mall. Lana was bored while Jose was setting up his ranch business and so she decided to take a course in Calgary. She enrolled in an online course for a teacher's certificate. She obtained a certificate as an online ESL instructor. The course was for 24 weeks. Last week, Jose and Lana took a weekend trip to Vegas for some fun and relaxation. While there they attended the Celine Dion show at Caesars Palace and in a fit of emotional nationalism about Jose's new home, decided to get married and apply to have Lana stay in Canada. They drove their car down the strip and came across a building with a sign that said "Wedding Chapel". The inside of the premises was decorated to look like the "Starship Enterprise" from television and movie fame. They were asked if they were there to get married and they said, "Yes". They were led to a costume room where they were invited to select the costume of their choice. Jose put on a "Klingon Warrior" outfit and Lana put on a Romulan Princess outfit. They were led out to an area where a person who said he was licensed to marry them greeted them. Jose said they were Argentinean citizens who were living in Canada. The "celebrant" said that he often married aliens. A strange form of marriage ceremony occurred followed by the signing of documents. The couple was given a document that appeared to be a marriage license of the State of Nevada. Several days ago Lana attended a doctor with regard to some chronic pains she was suffering from. The doctor told her she had rheumatoid arthritis. The doctor also said that the blood test indicated that she was pregnant. They are in your office now and want to get your assistance in having Lana sponsored by Jose in a family class application. Lana is here on a six-month visitor visa. She wants to go back to Argentina for the birth of her child because she wants to be with her mother, but she says she would come back to Canada right away. Does this present any problems? What is the advice you would give them? What further information do you need? Complete a application for them.
