Q1) Two secondary beams ISLB 300 @ 37.7 kg/m and ISLB 500 @ 75.0 kg/m carrying working reaction 160 kN and 350 kN respectively connected to the web of the main beam ISWB 550 @ 112 kg/m. Design the bolted connection by M20 black bolt of 410 grade.
Q2. Design suitable I-section for simply supported beam of span 5m carrying a dead load of 20kN/m and imposed load of 40 kN/m. The beam is laterally unsupported throughout the span. Also check against shear, web buckling, web crippling and deflection.
