What is your own definition of a happy life?
What is your understanding of an "individual" and how is it related to the totality?
A Happy life for me is a life spent towards the fulfillment of my goals. Happiness is relative. anyone can define what makes them happy but for me, doing something that will ultimately lead to achieving my goals is the source of my happiness, even if it is just a small step towards achieving that goal. An Individual is a part of a larger set that fits together to form a large cohesive unit. As an individual, it is important to know how you can play your part for the group. An Individual is unique in many ways but it is also worth noticing that an individual needs other individuals for them to survive. Even though you live alone on a secluded area, and you plant your own food, filter your own water, scavenge your needed supplies, it can be argued that at some point in your life, you rely on other individuals to survive.
Step-by-step explanation
Individuals must learn how they interact with the society at large. A simple action may lead to tremendous effects in the future. No matter how big or how small you think you may see your actions, its impact will be much different in magnitude to others. This will happen no matter if you like it or not. As the popular saying goes, no man is an Island. In dealing with the individuality of a person today, you will often find people arguing that they do not need any other person. To be honest, I think it is idiotic to say that you do not need anyone. from the moment you are conceived, you need the nourishment of your mother. A person may not need other person a some points in their lives but in totality, inter person interaction will always happen. That is what I personally believed in.
Regarding happiness, some people finds their own version of happiness in helping people. They feel euphoric when they have given aid to a person in need, or have given warmth to a person who is cold. For me personally, one of my goals is to establish a library so that I can help people in search for knowledge. It may not be as stereotypical as the ones shown in the TV but I want to help people in using their minds towards the improvement of mankind. That is my way of doing my part to society.
