Formalist criticism- this type of criticism includes analyzing the own language and how it is being used in a particular passage or literary text. It more likely focuses on the text itself, rather than the different backgrounds of the intention of the writer.
Feminist criticism- this type of criticism focuses on the way by which a particular literary text includes the political, economic, pyschological and social aspect of women. You may watch the movie entitled Joy Luck Club by Amy Tan as a reference for this type of literary criticism.
Reader-response criticism- it focuses on how the reader visualizes and interacts with the content of the texy. Usually, this kind of criticism focuses on how the reader formulate his or her own ending of the story.
Deconstructionist criticism- focuses on the objects being signified in the literary text. In this type of criticism, the reader is trying to recognize the objects which has been used as symbols in the story.
Psychological criticism- it usually focuses on the biographical issues and background of the author and how it affects the way how the writer wrote the text
