The Cost of Natural Resources As Hite and Seitz (2016) show in Chapter 4: Energy, the world is in the midst of an energy crisis as it concerns the rapid use and depletion of nonrenewable natural resources.  According to the textbook, "Many experts predict that the largest increase in demand for oil in the coming years will come from increasingly industrialized economies with large populations..." (p. 140)

• Can this be offset by measures taken in developed nations to address the energy-climate crisis? Why or why not?
• What potential strategies could be used to reduce the demand for energy in industrialized economies with large populations?

The developed nations are aiming at finding alternative sources of energy besides oil due to the increase in industrialization which are more friendly to the environment and which do not affect climate.For example by reducing the amount of CO2 emissions in the atmosphere by banning the use of fossil fuels ,using renewable energy,using public transport or electric trains and carbon sequestration in soils or forests such as tree planting.By reducing air pollution by controlling gas emission from the industries can help to deal with energy-climate crisis.As well the countries can use energy efficiently and in a way that that is not harmful to the environment by using environment friendly machineries and energy efficient and Fiat effective too.

Strategies that could be used to reduce the demand for energy in industrialized economies with large populations include;

• Using LED bulbs which are more energy efficient in lighting than incandescent bulbs.This bulbs use less electricity and they have no mercury.They as well last longer than traditional bulbs.
• Unplug devices like televisions ,scanners ,printers as they use standby power even when off.This reduces the amount of energy used as idle electronics as well consume energy.
• Turning off lights when not in use can reduce the amount of energy demanded.
• The use of electric trains which are fast and don't require much energy can reduce the demand of energy like fuel used in other means of transport.
