Consider a topic that rises to the presidential level. How did each of the presidents (Trump, Obama, and Bush) handle the problem? What would you do differently?

Opioid crisis presents one of the main critical healthcare agenda in the United States to warrant the presidential attention. It is debate that ever since heroin and painkiller pandemic cropped up has attracted immense public attention. Regardless of the magnitude of its impacts, the various presidential administrations have set up measures to address the issue, in distinct approaches.

President Obama and Opioid Crisis

The Obama administration considered funding major programs to address the crisis, following a legislative process. The move apparently affirms the administration's regard for critical health issues as a direct function of adequate funding of interventional programs. Regardless of the first major legislation, his administration also expressed the need to obtain background information regarding the origin of the crisis (Christie et al., 2017). They went ahead, through relevant agencies to outline the vision that comprehensively intended to stop the crisis. 

President Trump 

Although he displayed a similar kind of vigor in the quest to combat Opioid use, President Trump's take on the magnitude and impact of the crisis mainly draws on public opinion across different states. One of the prominent figures to lobby on his behalf stated most of the affected areas were the states where Trump supporters came from (Jaffe, 2017). 

As a result, the administration took to emphasize on the need for better interventions in treating addictions. Just like the Obama administration, Trump took to establish a mechanism as to identify the number of addicted patients that doctors could treat to enable derive collective figures on the benefits and impacts of health interventions. 

President Bush

With regard to opioid crisis, the Bush administration advocated for policy enforcement to trail the incidents of heroin trade across the borders (Christie et al., 2017). The move created a way to curb the rising exposure to drugs because the rampant trade increasingly predisposed Americans to the crisis. Therefore, strict policies on immigrants, especially across the Mexican borders prompted the fight against the opioid crisis in America. 

As a legislator, I would create room for Americans to have bipartisan consensus about the issue, including both government officials as well as civilians (Christie et al., 2017). I would give high priority to the main impact and journey to resolutions following the rapid death rates opioid crisis caused on Americans.
