What is a group of whales called?
A group of whales is called a pod. Usually, there are between two to 30 whales in one pod. Most pods are formed because there is a bond between each one of its members, mostly through family relations, such as a mom raising her young. Whales travel in pods mostly for mating and feeding purposes. Some whales, like orcas, live together in pods because they are highly social creatures.
