In which part of the body would melanoma develop?

Melanoma is a form of skin cancer. Specifically, it develops from melanocytes located primarily in the skin, but occasionally, though rarely, in the mouth, eye, or intestines. If melanoma metastasizes, it can spread to other parts of the body, including the brain, bones and lungs. Recent advances in immunotherapy have made melanoma easier to treat, but it still remains one of the deadlier forms of cancer once it has metastasized. If caught before it has metastasized, it is quite curable, so early detection is very important.
