Where do consumers get their energy from?

Some consumers get their energy by eating producers. These are called primary consumers. Other consumers, called secondary consumers, get their energy by eating primary consumers. For example, a plant is a producer. It is eaten by a rabbit, which is a primary consumer. The rabbit is eaten by an eagle, which is a secondary consumer.
