Cross talk is a scenario during a signal transmission in a coper based network where an interference causes one copper twisted pair buddle to radiate / interfere with other signal transmissions on the copper bundle. This scenario can greatly degrade network performance, reduce availability and reliability of services deployed in the network. This can be due to external factors such as External Noise such as EMI (Electromagnetic Interference) , NEXT (Near End Crosstalk)  such as disturbing signals emanating from other transmitters and FEXT (Far End Cross Talk) which can be generated by disturbing transmitters at the opposite end of the loop.

I have experience cross talk on the previous organization I am working with. During the installation of our IP based CCTVs Electro magnetic interference coming from the Power lines where the Copper based cables where deployed interfered with signal transmissions resulted to blurred video output of the CCTV devices. We have address the issue by covering the Coper-based cable with an insulation material that negates the external noises and interferences.
