There is a clear breach in informed consent as patient was forced to agree to what the health provider wants without knowing and understanding what it is about. Before a patient agrees to a procedure or management, an informed consent that she must voluntarily sign and agree to must be accomplished. In this case, the patient involuntarily agreed to a procedure she knows nothing about, and her consent was therefore forced.

In this situation, Maryanne should have rescheduled another appointment for Yasmine wherein Mia should be present, or Maryanne should have waited for Mia to arrive. She can patiently explain to Yasmine what the procedures are and then re explain it again to Mia so that she can translate it for Yasmine
