For a job you know well, create a questionnaire of five items that elicits employee reaction to the employees’ levels of compensation. Identify what information should be included in a job analysis and job evaluation in order to develop a job structure.
Answer:
The five questions that would elicit employee reaction would begin with:
1. Will there be an increase in pay if an employee completes any required training, computer modules and/or attend any workshops or seminars that are mandatory to take to complete probationary period?
2. Are there merit pay increases during quarterly performance reviews that exceed the maximum allowable points?
3. Can temporary/intermittent employees be allowed to participate in overtime and are they paid shift differential or time and a half like full time permanent employees?
4. If promoted to a team lead position (title under supervisor but held at high regard due to amount of KSA(knowledge, skills & abilities) would it also include a pay raise only while position is held?
5. Can an employee work from home participate in overtime and will compensation be the same if they worked in a facility?
I don’t know of any hard worker don’t want to be compensated in some form or another. However, it is a familiar topic in my place of employment where, I am an administrative coordinator, actually it is referred to as an Employment Consultant I. I felt these questions can be included in an employee survey to help the agency learn what is important to their employees, as they will help bring the organization closer to their business goals.
