For this technology course project, you may choose one suggestion (or a combination of suggestions) that is of interest to you from the list below. When selecting a technology project, avoid picking one that is either too big or too small. Make sure you are clear on your business and/or technology scenario. The Professor has provided several additional scenarios that are available for you to choose.

Technology Project Idea Suggestion Guidelines

Please make sure that all technology course projects have significant functionality and requirements to meet the project criteria. Keep in mind that all technology course projects can be for any type of company or organization (small or large) across industries. Based on your business and/or technology problem scenario and scope, you should be able to determine the need for a comprehensive technology project solution and its scope, which can include a combination of technology suggestions on the list below.

All systems or applications must follow a full system/software development life cycle (SDLC—traditional and/or agile methodology combination), as needed for your specific project. Keep in mind that your Week 4 assignment work breakdown structure (WBS) will be based on the methodology you choose.

1. In-house software development project

2. Vendor software or commercial off the shelf (COTS) packages (any combination of the following technologies can be included in the scope)

   • ERP, CRM, SCM

   • Cloud-based solutions

   • Databases solutions

   • Web portal, website, e-commerce

3. Network infrastructure design and installation project

   • Network typology, protocols, wireless, etc.

   • For local and/or global business

4. Telepresence and/or video conference project

5. Information security or cyber security projects (address hacking and security issues of today)

7. Multiple users or devices (can apply to any of the technology solutions on the list)
