I have  a friend who was diagnosed with diabetes and developed an ulcer on the left pedal area. She was referred to wound care nurse who took her through the requirements for the healing of the ulcer. The nurse demonstrated the process of wound dressing. A return demonstration was also done. They set goals for the discharge and all the aspects that she was suppose to watch out for illustrated. She was given a contact to reach out to in the event on any deviations from the set plan.
