Give one example of how you created a welcoming environment for families .

Apply good first impression to the family members. Here one welcomes family members with a hug and a smile . This will make the family members feel accepted incase they have visited . In addition they will feel free to share ideas in any conversation you will have with them. One can also make sure that the house is kept clean , the living room should be organized and the coaches should be kept clean. Ensure that there is no litter dropped on the floor and the carpet is also clean.

Record details of at least one verbal and one nonverbal communication skill you used during your consultation with the family.

Tonal variation. I will vary my tone as communicate with with family and make sure that the word come out clearly . I will use falling intonation in making statement and asking some Wh questions. I will arise my note when asking my family members general yes or no type of question . In addition I will use rising intonation if I want my family members continue with their conversation.

Nonverbal

Eye contact. I will maintain a good eye contact with my family members. This will encourage them to continue speaking . This will also help me notice if they are interested with what we are discussing . Maintaining the eye contact will also enable me to discover if my family members are bored such that I can change the topic o or introduce a pause .
