Do men need feminism? Does feminism need men? please explain why or how challenging and eventually ending patriarchy is for the benefit of both men and women.  

 

Yes, men too need feminism. Men need feminism as feminism advocate for equality between men and women and that is its primary aim. Feminism therefore works for the benefit of both sexes and not women only in the society.  Feminism need men as the eradication of gender inequality needs the voices of the male gender too. Feminism cannot achieve its aims without the support and the contribution of men. Challenging and eventually ending patriarchy is for the benefit of both men and women as it promotes equality in the society. Ending patriarchy in the society means good for men and promotes a better society based on societal norms and not gender oriented. Feminism as a way of ending patriarchy works to free both men and women from the different forms of gender binary and bring up good and acceptable gender performances. There is need to dismantle and finally end patriarchy structure and the best means to do it is through feminism.
